Technical Positions
I am looking to hire 2 software engineers/computer programmers to help with GeneDig.
An ideal candidate will be a biologist accomplished in computer programming, or possibly a computer programmer with bioinformatics experience, however a background in scripting languages such as Javascript and experience with SQL is most important.
The first position is for a Web Developer with a graphics arts bent:
You should have:
Experience with UNIX environment, including experience with version control systems such as Git.
Aptitude in HTML, XHTML, DHTML, CSS, PHP, MYSQL, and JavaScript, preferably familiar with HTML5 specification.
Focus on standards compliant, semantic design.
Experience with XML and related tools.
Experience with graphics design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, GIMP, or Flash.
Strong knowledge of molecular biology.
An active interest in bioinformatics and genomics applications.
The second position is for a Web Developer with a database management bent:
You should have:
Experience with UNIX environment, including experience with version control systems such as Git.
Aptitude in HTML, XHTML, DHTML, PHP, and JavaScript, preferably familiar with HTML5 specification.
Demonstrated education and/or experience with relational database implementation in MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, or equivalent.
Aptitude in programming languages Python, Perl, Java, or C/C++.
